Coaching Academic Writers & Researchers Course (Coaching in Practice Series 2027)

Coaching Academic Writers & Researchers is a six-hour professional development course exploring how coaches can support writers and researchers as they navigate the creative, intellectual, and professional challenges of academic work.

Across three live, interactive sessions, you’ll explore foundational concepts and frameworks related to academic writing and research; learn alongside guest expert Anne Jamison; and reflect on and practice coaching approaches that support clients as they navigate motivation, confidence, feedback, competing priorities, productivity, and their identities as writers and researchers.

The course is designed to help you support clients in examining assumptions and expectations, defining meaningful progress for themselves, developing greater awareness of their individual working processes, and identifying approaches that support sustainable writing and research practices.

Each course includes three live sessions featuring foundational learning, a guest expert conversation, and integration and coaching practice.

The course includes 6 hours of live instruction and is currently pending approval for 6 ICF CCE credits (5 Core Competency + 1 Resource Development).
